So here's a picture of the Bush family, taken over the weekend at Jenna's wedding at the ranch down in Crawford, Texas. The Prairie Chapel Ranch, as it's formally known, was the site for the big soiree. And, just like at most weddings the rest of us here in the real world attend, the wedding party parents DID, in fact, shake their collective booties. But to what songs? Here's the scoop, according to USA Today:
Wedding singer Tyrone "Super T" Smith of Nashville, who performed at the reception, tells People that Jenna Bush and Henry Hager gazed into each other's eyes during their first dance, to Taj Mahal's "Lovin' In My Baby's Eyes." And he described a poignant father-daughter dance to the Billy Preston ballad (made popular by Joe Cocker), "You Are So Beautiful". But Bush, known for his dancing, of course, really had fun during "Sugar Sugar". Says Smith: "He was right there. He got down. He got down!"
"Lovin' In My Baby's Eyes"? Can't say I heard of it. When Sue and I got married three years ago, our first dance was to Ryan Cabrera's "True." And the President busted a move to the Archies song "Sugar Sugar?" I would have guessed some country song would have gotten W's boots a' movin. If you're from Texas, you've pretty much GOT to dance to country, don't you? It's like dancing a polka at a wedding to us folks up here (Which, of course, we ALSO did at our wedding...) |
