I was letting Chance and Kramer out one last time a few nights ago around 9pm when I noticed the sun, slowing setting over the west horizon.  So in my quest to actually appreciate the little things in life like this (especially since it's still light until, what, nearly 9:15?!?), I grabbed the cell phone and snapped the following pictures...



That's our front deck and driveway, and I've gotta say, the actual sunset was much more scenic. Maybe this shot of the sun setting on the backyard (which I finally got around to mowing) will look better...



Nope, this one looked much better in person too.  What... a cell phone camera isn't exactly suited to taking pictures like this that the pro's have a tough time catching, what with the lighting, the background and all that stuff?  Get outta here!  Anyway, even if the photos don't do it justice, I do always take a moment this time of year to appreciate being able to enjoy the sunset while sitting on the deck enjoying a lovely adult beverage.  Or two.  It's then that it occurs to that, in the middle of December at 9pm, it's been dark for nearly 4 hours already.  Here's to summer!
