6/2 - Taste of Eau Claire: Dessert Judging Behind The Scenes!

So along with myself, it was TV-13's Kurt Kotenburg, TV-18's Jerry Gallagher, and News/Talk 790's John Murphy all judging the desserts at Taste of Eau Claire yesterday. A tough job, I tell ya, but I was happy to help out... I'm a giver, what can I say? Anyway, here's a behind-the-scenes look at how seriously Jerry and Murph took their assignments at the judging table...
The furrowed brow... the intense concentration... the human drama of dessert competition! Thankfully, I took the picture so you couldn't see the chocolate all over my hands.
Meanwhile, Friday on ESPN, they were covering the prelim rounds of the Scripps-Howard National Spelling Bee. And, just like primetime sports coverage, ESPN reporter Erin Andrews was dispatched to talk to the kids who had just spelled a word wrong and were out of the tournament. Now imagine a poor, despondent, disappointed 12-year old boy trying to talk to Erin...
