Unless it's a pretty elaborte hoax, yes, that IS Sir Paul McCartney-- stopped to take a quick roadtrip pit stop-- at the Circle K convenience store on Clear Lake Avenue in Springfield, Illinois.  What was the former Beatle doing in the midwest?  Apparently he and his "lady friend" were driving to St. Louis, just as these college guys were, and needed to take care of a little business along the way.  Who knew?  I once served Mike Ditka  when I worked for a fast-food place back in Rothschild, but I can't say I've ever run into somebody like Sir Paul...
