Famous Events Stopped By Thunderstorms

So, our I-94 Idol Finale Party had to be cancelled due to the onslaught of thunderstorms Wednesday evening.  Really, nothing like being in an open area under a tall metal tower holding up power lines with lots of lightning coming.  To say nothing of all the rain, wind, potential hail & tornadoes.

It's not the first time an event had to be put on the shelf due to darkening skies.  Last night reminded me of the legendary Diana Ross thunderstorm concert in 1983.  She was having a show in Central Park, with 300,000 people in attendance, and a big thunderstorm came during the show.  They tried to keep going, but ended up cancelling the show early.  Here's a clip of the concert from YouTube -- check out the skies...kinda similar to last night, eh?  (At least they could re-schedule that concert!)  Also, see how Diana does the whole "let's leave in an orderly fashion" thing at the end.
