Living Under A Cloud

So of all the days for the winds to blow from the southeast, it happens to be the day a fire breaks out at Waste Reclamation & Recycling -- which is southeast of where I live.  It sure is different to watch rolling clouds of black smoke drifting nearly overhead, maybe a bit to the east.  When I was driving along Golf Road in Eau Claire below the main plume, the smell was burnt, but a little, well, weird.

This marks the first time I've lived in an area that was under any sort of evacuation.  In this case, it was the voluntary evacuation covering the area west of Hwy 93, east of Rudolph Rd & south of Golf Rd.  A little eerie to think that my home was under any sort of evacuation, but such are the precautions you take when dealing with this kind of fire.
