WE SHOULD ALL BE SO LUCKY...

Regardless of what season it is, my dogs love every day and I think I would like to work towards such bliss. With the advent of Spring, barring the occasional threat of snow here and there, I'm finding my mood is elevated substancially with the improving weather. It's a great feeling to be able to open the windows, turn down the heat and let the dogs be in the yard for longer than it takes for their little paws to freeze in the Winter. The dogs love it, too. Well, the dogs love everything. It's fun to watch their little snouts point up into the Spring air and smell the thousands of "new" smells held frozen all these months. Their true zest for life itself is what gives me such a kickstart every day. Specifically, my dogs don't have stresses and deadlines, homework or chores; but if they did, their attitude would still be the same. Every time I have a full schedule in front of me, I get frustrated and irritated with not having time to myself. The ironic thing is, the dogs are not here for themselves. They make it their life mission to be there for their people. And, they never complain. Walking the dogs is hilarious because they know when that time of day comes, it's their time. They can walk and sniff and smell and mark the territories they think is their favorite. When they walk, they walk with purpose. When they do anything they do it with purpose. Even if they don't get a walk because it's too hot or too cold, rainy, snowey, icy, or any other Wisconsin-like weather that's less than favorable for fur coat-wearing critters, they don't whine or hold it against anyone. I sometimes forget what it's like to go with the flow but with the Spring among us, bringing promise of new growth and fresh beginnings, I'm going to made the best effort to put my best to put my best foot forward and walk in my poochies' paw prints.
