What Is A Trebuchet?

So at the Wisconsin Renaissance Faire -- which, as you may know, I'm taking part in as a singer & actor -- we launch rotten cantaloupe.  Why, you ask?  For fun!  They did it in 1346, after all.

What I'm talking about is the trebuchet (a French word, pronounced "treh-byew-SHAY") meaning "very bucket."  It's similar to a catapult, but somewhat different in design.  And several times each day of the Wisconsin Renaissance Faire, we launch a cantaloupe.  It's really a ton of fun.  In fact, here are a couple clips from YouTube of the trebuchet:
